Scripture: Therefore, brothers and sisters, given the mercies of God, I urge you to present your bodies as a living sacrifice, holy and pleasing to God; this is your true worship. Do not conform to this age, but be transformed by renewing your mind to discern God's good, pleasing, and perfect will.

True transformation is trusting God.

"The great solution to all human problems is individual inner transformation." This quote by Vernon Howard is relevant to our text today. As we enter the third week of Lent, let this quote remind us how our journey has evolved over the past few years of our lives!

As I thought about my evolution, I remember the words from the Apostle Paul's writing to the Romans in chapter 12:1-2. In verses 1 & 2, Paul tells us it's time to change. Old things are passed away, and behold, all things are new. He motivates us to dedicate our bodies as a living and consecrated offering; This is our true worship.

How does God transform our lives? By the conviction of the Holy Spirit and the power of His Word. Today, let's explore what it means to offer ourselves willingly to the divine, seeking transformation through the renewal of our minds.

True transformation is faith in God.

Amid the daily rush and chaos, it's simple to find ourselves conforming to the patterns of this world. The pressures, expectations, and distractions can pull us away from the sacred path. However, Paul calls us to resist this conformity and embrace a different way of living – a life dedicated to God. There was a time in my life when I had to decide to put the world in my review mirror and live for Jesus. The choice isn't easy, but the benefit is eternal life. Did my problems go away instantly? No! It's a process.

True transformation is Holiness.

In the beginning, God said, Let us make man in our image and likeness. See, God gave us His name, image, and likeness. Wow! To all my sports fans, NIL (Name, Image, Likeness.) is not new; it came from God first. Therefore, we should be willing to live for God. How do we present our bodies as a living sacrifice? By surrendering our desires, ambitions, appetites, and will to the mercies of God. It's an act of devotion, a conscious choice to offer ourselves wholly to the divine service of God.

As we engage in this reasonable service, we will experience a profound transformation. Our lives are no longer dictated by the world's standards but are guided by the Holy Spirit.

The renewal of the mind is an ongoing process. It requires us to become intentional about how we live. We must align our thoughts, attitudes, and perspectives with the will of God. Our minds are transformed through prayer, meditation on His Word, and fellowship with fellow believers. Then, we begin to discern God's good, acceptable, and perfect will.

True transformation is to believe in God.

As I conclude our time together, let us embrace the challenge outlined in Romans 12:1-2. Let our prayer time remind us of our commitment to be transformed by the Holy Spirit. May our prayers, shared as a community, reflect our desire to be a living sacrifice, pleasing and acceptable to God. May the renewal of our minds continue to guide us on the path of His righteousness. May the grace of God keep us as we seek to live out this transformative journey together. Amen.
