Reflection:

"Faith is to believe what you do not see; the reward of this faith is to see what you believe." this quote by St. Augustine sums up what Jesus taught His disciples in Mark 11:24, "therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

Let me highlight three things you should know about this text. First, you must pray; secondly, you must believe; and lastly, you must see it. I will get to that momentarily.

Give me a moment to set the stage for this text. In verses 1-11, Jesus and his disciples were preparing to celebrate the beginning of the Spring Feast (the Appointed Feast of the Lord); Many recognize this passage as Palm Sunday.

In verses 12-19, Jesus cursed a fig tree because it was fruitless. Next, Jesus evicts vendors using the house of prayer for a bazaar; in verses 20-23, we find Peter telling Jesus that the fig tree had withered away. Jesus responded with these words, "Have faith in God."

The prerequisite to getting your prayers answered is to have faith in God. The main line of communication is through prayer. The first thing Jesus tells you to do is ask in prayer. Ask what God has already promised in His word. Next, believe what God has promised you.

Lastly, get a clear picture of what God has promised you in your mind and heart, then speak it into the atmosphere with excitement and belief.

Here are my final thoughts- with God, all things are possible if you believe.

Ask. Seek. Knock in prayer and believe you have received it.
